6 months later ...

during lunch today, one of my managers said to me 'you look as though you've aged since starting here in the summer.  is everything ok?'.  i thought having the asian gene would keep me looking youthful, you know, for a lot longer than this.

i'm burnt out.  are you?

whee we're done!!!!

i thought i'd be a little misty-eyed after the exam yesterday, being that it was the last one ever in that institution i've called 'home' for the past 7 years.  but noooo ... after stepping out of zubin's exam, there was a definite sense of renewal; rebirth was also used to describe the event.  it was GREAT!  congratulations - we're done!!!

it was a good time at shallow groove last nite.  i spent some time with those whom i normally don't get to talk to.  many of them being those whom i met during phrosh week but haven't necessarily kept in touch with along the way.  but i do appreciate you and despite all the different cliques and groups in our class, i hope that we will all stay in touch.

thanks 0t6s for the great 3.5 years ... see you soon!

one last time

first day of class tomorrow and year after year, i'm never ever ready for it.  except this time, it will be my last time.  there will never be another first day of class ever again (i hope).  many people may be jumping for joy at the thought of this.  me?  it feels odd.  after 20+ years of schooling, i have gotten used to the routine.  bleh ... i'll probably be thrilled about finishing school sometime in the future.

3 years ago, many of us embarked on the journey of being a pharmacy student.  can you believe it's been 3 years?  i still remember phrosh week: vinnie's, milestone's, mini-olympics, etc.  we've really come a long way from then.

tomorrow begins a new semester. a final one at the institution i've called my 3rd home for the last 6 years.  3 more fragile months.  to those on the same path, i wish you luck and success along the way to christmas.

good bye to summer.  good nite.

do re mi ... mi re do ... lalalalala

today, i did something uber exciting: i cleaned my computer.  i'll skip the whole part on the logistics of cleaning the comp ... blah blah blah ... and skip to when i looked inside my music folder.  i can't believe some of the songs i still have from high school (and the full collections of 98 degrees, backstreet boys, moist, bon jovi - yeah, my taste in music is everywhere).  although most will never become classics (e.g. - kris kross' i missed the bus), they can't help but bring back warm and fuzzy memories of the past and present ...

mc hammer's can't touch this: my very first tape purchase.  it was precious, and so were his big flappy pants.  and then my neighbour borrowed it and never gave it back.

vanilla ice's ice ice baby: probably hard to believe, but this was my gr. 5 class' anthem.  we had to sing it in gym class.  every gym class.

boyz II men's i'll make love to you: first dance with my hs crush/bf (blush).  come to think of it ... i'm not quite sure if i knew what the heck 'i'll make love to you' was back then.  oh the innocent, naive mind ...

mariah carey's #1 hits cd: 4 girls and 1 boy, sitting in a little sunfire travelling from school to north york general (+ bloorview) for co-op.  1 lovely high-pitched voice mimicking mariah's greatest hits.  us 4 gals were blown away by these performances.

rave collection: never raved nor was i any good with those glowsticks, these songs were constantly on during 1st year undergrad when i was studying.  not sure if that was a good idea seeing how my gpa was quite shameful.

bon jovi's you give love a bad name: 1st year pharmacy, living in grad house ... pretending to be rock stars while banging on pots and pans with kristi and tricia.  this was done only during exams, especially during physchem studying sessions.  i'm sure you pharmies understand why.

kelis' milkshake: not much of a memory, but this song brings me to giggles cuz i am reminded of the scene in 'mean girls' ... the little sister who starts shaking her boot-ay (if you haven't seen it .. i highly recommend it)

50 cent's jus a lil' bit: just an inside joke with a friend.  i just don't get the g-unit business.  i'm sure sungers can give me a short tutorial hehe.

and countless others like all the songs that i've used for my pager greetings (come on, i'm sure some of you did the same thing).  i love my mp3s ... all 8.26 GBs worth!

p.s. - did anyone try to bid for the leafs season tix???  $250,000!?!?!
